Hilltop Storage Sheds

Buying Guides

What Size Shed Do You Actually Need?

The easiest way to undersize a shed is to plan around what you own today instead of what you'll own in five years.

Lawn equipment and general storage

An 8x12 or 10x12 utility shed comfortably fits a riding mower, tools, and seasonal gear with room to walk around it.

A workshop you'll actually use

Most people underestimate bench space. A 10x16 or 12x16 gives you a real workbench plus storage, without feeling like a hallway.

Replacing a garage bay

If you want a mower and a car or ATV under one roof, look at our 12x20+ lofted garages - the loft adds real storage without adding footprint.

Animals

Our chicken coops and livestock shelters are sized by the number and type of animal, not general square footage - worth browsing in-stock units in your category first to get a feel for scale.

When in doubt, size up one notch. The cost difference between adjacent sizes is usually smaller than the regret of a too-small building.
